FAQs

Why should I use MedOp Advisors?

Prescriptions and over-the-counter medications, supplements, and herbals all have side effects that can cause more harm than good. Taking them the wrong way—wrong time of day, wrong foods, wrong coadministration with other medications—could decrease their effectiveness and can even hurt you. Working with a trusted clinician will give you peace of mind.

Why is looking at all components of my life important?

Good health isn’t simply about taking medications. The influences of your life dictate your health and your body’s response to those influences. Optimizing your prescription medications means making sure the diagnosis you have matches with the medications you are prescribed and that you are taking them in the best way. Drug-drug interactions, drug-disease interactions, drug-food interactions, kidney and liver disfunction, genetic differences, improper administration technique, improper timing of medication administration, and polypharmacy are all just some of the concerns I review.

Once the medication review is completed, we—you and I—then look at everything else directly impacting you: Nutrition and weight management, anxiety and stress management, sleep hygiene. This is important. You cannot medicate yourself to a better state.

What age groups do you work with?

Everyone! Infants, adolescents, teenagers, middle aged, and the young at heart.

How do we meet?

In person at your home or virtually.

What products do you sell?

None!

There are plenty of pharmacies that sell various products, but there is only one concierge pharmacist that can remain truly objective when partnering with you about your health. No hidden plan to sell you something, just a clear vision to get you healthy.

For individuals and families, what clinical areas do you help with?

  • Weight management support
  • Chronic diseases (e.g., Diabetes, asthma, hypertension)
  • Wellness (e.g., ED, thyroid, gut health, fertility)
  • Supplements and natural remedies
  • Self-care (e.g., Skin care, anxiety and stress management)
  • Functional Medicine – Addressing the root cause of patient concerns
  • Nutrition Support – Meal plans and supplement recommendations
  • Stress & Sleep – Lifestyle and wellness coaching
  • Fertility – Managing hormones and other key factors
  • Smoking cessation

For physicians and medical offices, what do you do to help?

“Let us allow you to do more of what you do.”

  • I offer medical practices a durable competitive advantage by taking over pharmacotherapy management, allowing your team to optimize patient care and maximum RVUs. This model is meaningful (improved outcomes), reliable (quality/safety), and scalable (can grow as your business expands).
  • I am completely independent of outside influence. I do not manufacture or market products. The pay for service model means our patients receive unbiased and unparalleled expertise for all types of clinical issues involving medications, sleep hygiene, nutrition, and mental health management.
  • Collaborative Practice Agreements (CPA)
  • Medication therapy monitoring and management using evidence-based medicine and guideline directed therapy
  • Guidance and patient education on optimal use of therapies (e.g., inhalers and nebulizers, self-administered medications, point of care testing)
  • Pharmacogenomic interpretation and medication optimization

For nursing homes and nursing facilities, how can you assist?

  • Antibiogram creation and antimicrobial stewardship
  • Antipsychotic stewardship
  • The Joint Commission (TJC)/Regulatory inspection preparation
  • Formulary management
  • Medication therapy monitoring and management
  • Anticholinergic burden review
  • Monthly Medication Regimen Reviews (MRRs) for residents per CMS guidelines (F756 & F757)
  • Identify and report potential medication-related problems and recommend appropriate interventions
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with federal, state, and facility-specific requirements
  • Educate nursing staff and facility leadership on medication safety, appropriate drug use, and compliance standards
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize pharmaceutical care
  • Stay updated on changes in pharmacy regulations, CMS guidelines, and long-term care standards

How do you work with businesses and human resources to help employees achieve better health?

  • Medication adherence
  • Cost-effective therapeutic alternatives
  • Drug interactions and adverse drug events management
  • Formulary optimization
  • Wellness and prevention programs
  • Smoking cessation
  • Stress reduction and sleep hygiene

Why you?

Great question!

Not only are you getting a triple-board certified clinician, Distinguished Fellow, and Doctor of Pharmacy, you are also working with one that cares deeply about your health. YOU are my patient, my client, my work, not a sponsor or insurance company or other decision maker.

I started and operationalized programs at The Johns Hopkins Hospital System, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Optum Serve, and several other hospitals and clinics. As a medication therapy management expert, I have helped thousands of patients achieve better health outcomes in all areas of their lives.

I am one of the few clinicians who combines their knowledge of medications and supplements with nutrition, sleep hygiene, and mental health and wellness. You and I will work together with the rest of your medical team to manage your chronic medical conditions, prevent illness, and achieve your health care goals.

I work for you, with you.
